Celebrating Black History Month

Every February, the U.S. observes Black History Month (BHM) to celebrate the culture, achievements, and contributions of African Americans. It’s a time to reflect on the past and look ahead with hope.
BHM continues to thrive despite numerous challenges. Recent governmental shifts away from Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives have led some federal bodies to scale back observances. Yet in workplaces, schools, and communities across the country, Black History Month remains a vital celebration of culture and progress.
More than a reflection on history, BHM is a springboard for the future. African Americans and immigrants continue to shape the nation’s landscape. From Barack Obama, the son of a Kenyan immigrant who became President, to Madam CJ Walker, the first female self-made millionaire in America, Black excellence continues to inspire.
While the fight against prejudice persists, the celebration of Black culture offers hope, unity, and progress. At WeDey, we embrace Black History Month as a time to honor the past and envision a brighter future for all.
